The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:18-19

So, it sounds like a new Star Wars movie but I just love the way the writer of the Hebrews describes what Jesus has done. The law that existed before was designed to point people to God but Jesus is a better way, a better hope.

I don’t have much to add here. Jesus draws us close to the Father, He is hope, He is life.
