I’m back at the beginning with my reading of the Bible and I’m enjoying reading the creation story again. Everytime I read it I notice something new that I haven’t seen before. Today I noticed something fun as I was reading verses 14 to 16. Here is the start of that section
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night…. Genesis 1:14-16a
Amazing.
But its the next part of verse 16 which had me shaking my head (in a good way) because it says….
…He also made the stars. Genesis 1:16b
Its mentioned like an aside!
The stars!
Those burning balls of sulphur that scientists and astrologers have beencaptivated and intrigued by for generations are a “and also” in Gods creation.
How incredible are you God!!!
