In Acts 19 we read that the apostle Paul has reached the city of Ephesus. Upon arriving there he imparted the Holy Spirit to the believers as they hadn’t yet received Him. We then hear that Paul begins to speak in the local synagogue, but because of some opposition he moved and spoke in a local Greek lecture hall. Then this next verse drops;
This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. Acts 19:10
This is the kind of verse that just slides past us when we read but think about what it says.
ALL,
yes you heard it,
ALL the Jews and Greeks in the province of Asia heard the word of God. Think about that.
When I read verses like that I realise how small our dreams for our communities are.What it whole nations and regions truly heard the gospel? What it we carried out the great commission in its fullness?
Lord, would all of our nations hear your words. Open up the doors we need to move into all you have for us.
