Reading Daniel today I came across one of my favourite parts of the book. Its the moment where the King of Babylon has promoted Daniel to a very high position in the Kingdom. This causes much jealousy amongst the other administrators and satraps. We read what they did once he’d been promoted.
At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God Daniel 6:4-5
How incredible is that? Sad, that they want to get him, but incredible that the only way they believe they could was to go against the law of Daniels God.
What a challenge that is for us.
I wonder what we are known for in our workplaces, streets, families? I would love to know that this is what people would say about me – this is what I’d like to be famous for!
