I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. Phil 2:19-21

My underlining shows the line I am focusing on here. There’s not much to say here but its interesting that Paul was seeing this issue 2000 odd years ago. There is no doubt that self centredness is one of the biggest challenges that the church has. Our seeming inability to take our eyes off our own interests and not keep them on Jesus is what stops us from moving into the more He has for us.
