I am reading “Releasing kings for the market place” by Garfield and Eberle. There are so many parts that are pure gold in it and today I read one of those parts. They said this;

Kings are “serving lovers” not “loving servants.”

This distinction is brilliant. They describe how religion creates servants who are trying to love but always struggle to achieve it. The reason is it’s hard to lave something or someone you have to serve. It isn’t the way it was designed to work.

We are called to be people who love. Lovers will always find a way to express their love by serving those they love. Its never an obligation for them to do this.

Oh, how my heart longs to fully realise the fullness and release in this!
