One generation to another

As a church we are passionate about sustainable transformation throughout the generations. We want to ensure that the succeeding generation are the generation that succeeds. We dream about a 100 year vision where we don’t pass the baton but hold it together.

I was reading a book the other day which was talking a little about this, amongst other things, and the author pointed the reader towards a verse I had highlighted in the Psalms.

One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts Psalm 145:4

However, the author pointed out something about this verse that I had never noticed before. I always read it with the understanding that it was the older generation that would praise their works to the younger generations but that’s not what the verse says. It says that one generation shall praise God’s works to another which suggests that ‘yes’ the older generation was showing this to the younger generation but it also suggests that the younger generation is doing the same to the older generation.

I just love that and it’s the key to the future of the church moving forward. The older generation need to bless the younger and the younger generation need to honour the older and together they shall praise the works of the Lord and declare His mighty acts to one another.
